Medical Disclaimer

⚕️ IMPORTANT: Nirogo Assist is a clinical documentation and decision-support tool designed exclusively for use by licensed medical professionals. It does not practice medicine, does not provide medical advice, and is not a substitute for the independent clinical judgment of a qualified physician. All AI-generated outputs are suggestions only. The treating physician bears full professional and legal responsibility for every clinical decision.
1. Nature of the Platform
Nirogo Assist is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered software tool that assists licensed medical doctors with:
- Transcribing and structuring doctor-patient consultation notes into SOAP format
- Generating differential diagnosis suggestions based on spoken clinical information
- Drafting prescription and investigation recommendations
- Flagging potential clinical risk factors based on conversation context
Nirogo Assist is classified as a clinical decision support tool — not a medical device, diagnostic instrument, or autonomous clinical system. It is intended to augment, not replace, physician judgment.
2. Not a Substitute for Professional Medical Judgment
Every diagnosis, prescription, and clinical plan produced by Nirogo Assist is a suggestion only. It must be independently reviewed, verified, and either accepted or rejected by the treating physician based on their clinical expertise, full patient history, physical examination, and applicable investigations.
Nirogo Assist:
- Does not examine patients
- Does not have access to a patient's complete medical history unless the doctor provides it
- Does not account for factors not mentioned in the recorded conversation
- Does not replace laboratory tests, imaging, or specialist consultations
- May produce inaccurate, incomplete, or contextually inappropriate suggestions
3. Physician Responsibility
By using Nirogo Assist, the treating physician acknowledges and accepts that:
- They retain full professional, ethical, and legal responsibility for all clinical decisions
- They must independently verify all AI-generated content before acting on it
- They must apply their own clinical expertise, training, and judgment to every case
- They are responsible for complying with all applicable medical regulations, guidelines, and ethical standards set by the Medical Council of India (MCI), National Medical Commission (NMC), and relevant State Medical Councils
- They are responsible for obtaining appropriate patient consent before recording consultations
4. Accuracy of AI Outputs
AI language models, including the GPT-4o model used by Nirogo Assist, have known limitations:
- Hallucinations: AI may generate plausible-sounding but factually incorrect information
- Context limitations: AI processes only what is spoken during the recorded consultation — it does not have access to previous visits, lab results, or imaging unless explicitly mentioned
- Language nuance: Medical terminology in Hindi, Hinglish, or regional languages may occasionally be misinterpreted
- Rare conditions: AI performs better on common presentations and may be less reliable for rare, complex, or atypical conditions
- Drug interactions: AI-generated prescription suggestions do not constitute a comprehensive drug interaction check — always use a dedicated drug reference for complex cases
Always treat Nirogo Assist outputs as a first draft requiring clinical review — not a final clinical document.
5. Emergency Situations
In any emergency medical situation, Nirogo Assist must not be used as the primary basis for decision-making. In emergencies:
- Follow established emergency protocols immediately
- Call emergency services where appropriate
- Do not wait for AI output before initiating urgent treatment
- Alert flags generated by Nirogo Assist do not replace clinical triage or emergency assessment
6. Not for Patient Use
Nirogo Assist is designed exclusively for use by licensed medical professionals. It is not intended to be:
- Used by patients to self-diagnose or self-treat
- Shared with patients as a medical report or official clinical record
- Used by non-medical staff as the basis for clinical decisions
- Accessed by individuals without appropriate medical training
Patient-facing reports generated by the platform must be reviewed, edited, and approved by the treating physician before sharing with patients.
7. Regulatory Compliance
Doctors using Nirogo Assist remain responsible for:
- Complying with Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002
- Maintaining appropriate medical records as required by applicable law
- Complying with the Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2010 where applicable
- Adhering to telemedicine guidelines issued by the Board of Governors of MCI (2020) if conducting remote consultations
- Patient data protection obligations under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
Nirogo Assist is a documentation tool and does not constitute a certified Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Doctors must maintain their own records in compliance with their registration body's requirements.
8. No Doctor-Patient Relationship
Use of Nirogo Assist does not create any doctor-patient relationship between Nirogo Technologies Private Limited and any patient. Nirogo is a technology company — not a healthcare provider, medical institution, or clinical practice.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Indian law, Nirogo Technologies Private Limited expressly disclaims all liability for:
- Any clinical outcome, patient harm, or adverse event arising from use of or reliance on the platform's outputs
- Any error, omission, or inaccuracy in AI-generated content
- Any professional liability, disciplinary action, or legal proceeding arising from the treating physician's clinical decisions
- Any misuse of the platform by unlicensed individuals
